According to Deadline, Peter Gallagher (While You Were Sleeping, Titanic) continues to be proud of his co-star on The O.C. Adam Brody (Gilmore Girls, Jennifer’s Body), as his role in Nobody Wants This kicks off. Gallagher acted for four seasons as Brody’s TV dad, Sandy Cohen, in the 2000s drama. Brody played Seth Cohen, Gallagher’s TV son who was a comic book nerd. Gallagher was interviewed by People, where he shared his thoughts on Brody’s success and the sudden movement called the “Adam Brody Renaissance.”
“I wouldn’t go as far as being a proud dad, and I haven’t seen the show, but I’m proud of him all the time as his friend and former TV dad,” Gallagher informed People. “And I’m not surprised at all [of the renaissance]. He’s so talented and I’m glad he’s still doing his thing.”
As stated by Deadline, The O.C. premiered twenty years ago. Since then, Brody has moved on to other projects, and his current one is Nobody Wants This, one of the most streamed shows on Netflix since its debut in September. Written by Erin Foster (Barely Famous, He’s Such a Girl), the show centers around a relationship nobody would expect between a rabbi and an agnostic woman. A second season has already been granted by the streamer.
“Creating Nobody Wants This will forever be a career highlight for me,” Foster stated after the season two renewal announcement. “The incredible cast, crew, producers and executives all made this into the show it is today, and to experience viewers’ reactions to this series now that it’s out in the world has been more than anything I could have dreamed.”
Via Deadline, Nobody Wants This consists of Brody, Emily Arlook (Grown-ish, You People), Jackie Tohn (GLOW, Old Dads), Justine Lupe (Luckiest Girl Alive, Succession), Kristen Bell (Frozen, The Good Place), Paul Ben-Victor (Preacher, The Invisible Man), Sherry Cola (Joy Ride, A Family Affair), Shilo Bearman (Home Economics, The Republic of Sarah), Stephanie Faracy (Hocus Pocus, The Great Outdoors), Stephen Tobolowsky (One Day at a Time, Freaky Friday), Timothy Simmons (Yes, God, Yes, Candy) and Tovah Feldshuh (A Walk on the Moon, Kissing Jessica Stein).
