According to Deadline, Peter Dinklage(Wicked, Pixels), Emmy and Golden Globe winner, has officially joined the of Dexter: Resurrection. A spin-off series to Dexter: Original Sin, the series began production in New York and will premiere this summer. As of right, however, there isn’t a synopsis for the series but it will be set in the present day.
Dinklage will portray Leon Prater, a billionaire venture capitalist. To the world, Leon is a generous philanthropist but behind closed doors lies a dark intrigue. Leon works closely alongside Charley(Uma Thurman) his head of security.
According to ParamoutPlus.com, Dexter Original Sin follows Dexter Morgan as he transitions from student to avenging serial killer. When his bloodthirsty urges can’t be ignored any longer, Dexter must learn to channel his inner darkness. With the guidance of his father, Harry, he adopts a Code designed to help him find and kill people who deserve to be eliminated from society without getting on law enforcement’s radar. This is a particular challenge for young Dexter as he begins a forensics internship at the Miami Metro Police Department.
Dexter: Resurrection is executive produced by Clyde Philips(Feed The Beast, GetReal), who also served as showrunner, and produced by Showtime Studios and Counterpart. The show will also be executive-produced by Micheal C. Hall(Christine, Game Night), Scott Reynolds(The Ugly, Dexter), Tony Hernandez(Wedding, Top Five), and Marcos Siega(Honey Girls, The Substance). Monica Raymond(Bros, The Good Wife) is set to produce four episodes, with Siega directing six episodes. A preview of the series will premiere of an episode of Dexter: Original Sin, which is streaming now on Paramount Plus. The series will conclude the first season on February 14 . The original series starring Patrick Gibson as the titular serial killer in training available to stream on Paramount Plus with Showtime.
