Peri Gilpin Joins Acorn TV’s ‘You’re Killing Me’ Season Two

Acorn TV’s hit series You’re Killing Me is welcoming Peri Gilpin (Make It or Break It, How to Train Your Husband) as a guest star for its second season. According to a press release on Tuesday, the former Frasier star will appear alongside Brooke Shields in season two of the hit series.

In Season two of You’re Killing Me, Allie, played by Brooke Shields (The Blue Lagoon, Mother of the Sea Bride), and Andi, played by Amalia Williamson (Bria Mack Gets a Life, My Sister’s Double Life), prepare to release their first novel, which is expected to become an instant New York Times bestseller. While Allie enjoys their success, Andi worries people will see her as opportunistic rather than capable of authoring her own individual work. So, without telling Allie, she becomes determined to prove she can write independently. Meanwhile, Allie tries to establish her romantic relationship with Jack, played by Tom Cavanagh (Darrow & Darrow, Tom And Grant). Things are ever more complicated by the continuous murder cases Alli and Andi find themselves caught up in. These cases threaten the pair’s friendship, careers and lives.

Gilpin will guest star as Allie’s sister, Audra Chandler. According to Acorn TV, the character will be “a critically acclaimed writer with more awards than William Faulkner. Her pieces have been published in the most prestigious journals in the literary world, which drives Allie up the wall because, despite being a commercial success, she’s never felt she’s measured up to her seemingly perfect sister. But when Audra finds herself embroiled in a murder mystery while visiting Allie, their complicated relationship — and how it evolves — becomes the heart of the story.”

You’re Killing Me debuted in May and quickly became the streamer’s most-watched series and a major driver of subscriber acquisition. Robin Bernheim (The Princess Switch, Mother of the Bride) created the series.
