With the Percy Jackson and the Olympians working in production, original star of the Percy Jackson films, Logan Lerman (The Perks of Being a Wallflower, The Butterfly Effect) has showered praises over the Percy Jackson tv series actors.
During an interview with ComicBook, Lerman proclaimed that he believed Walker Scobell (Secret Headquarters, The Adam Project), star of the Percy Jackson series, needs no advice in the acting department, but offered some words of wisdom in regards to the production experience.
“I don’t think he needs any advice. The kid’s really talented. The only advice I can give him is just to enjoy it while you’re doing it,” Lerman said via ComicBook. “I think when you’re young, at least when I was younger [playing Percy Jackson], you almost forget to enjoy it as you’re a part of it. I really enjoyed it while I was doing it. Just take each second in and enjoy the newness of what you’re doing and being a part of something like that. That would be the only thing I would tell him. I’d feel like a bit of a schmuck, giving him advice (laughs). You’re great. You’re there for a reason. Just do your job.”
The cast for this upcoming Disney+ series reboot includes, according to Collider, Virginia Kull (Boardwalk Empire, Big Little Lies) portraying Sally Jackson, Dior Goodjohn (Are You Afraid of the Dark?, Head of the Class) portraying Clarisse La Rue, Charlie Bushnell (Diary of a Future President, Wetworks) portraying Luke Castellan, Leah Sava Jeffries (Beast, Rel) portraying Annabeth Chase, Suzanne Cryer (Seinfield, Silicon Valley) portraying Echidna, Aryan Simhadri (The Main Event, Spin) portraying Grover Underwood, Jason Mantzoukas (The Dictator, Big Mouth) portraying Dionysus, Lin-Manuel Miranda (Hamilton, Mary Poppins Returns) portraying Hermes, Megan Mullally (Will & Grace, Bob’s Burgers) portraying Alecto, and Adam Copeland (WrestleMania, Money Plane) portraying Ares.
“I just think this adaptation’s going to be great. I think the actors are so good and the creative team is great. Obviously, it’s Rick Riordan,” said Lerman. “It’s going to be exactly what it should be, and I hope the fans like it. I’ll definitely watch it. I’m curious to see what they do with it. I have no doubt that it’s going to be great.”
Percy Jackson and the Olympians is in its last month of production. The streaming service is aiming for a 2024 premiere, according to ComicBook. Stay tuned for a release date.
