Peacock’s ‘Poker Face’ Adds John Mulaney, Sam Richardson And Ego Nwodim To Second Season

According to TVLinePeacock’s murder mystery series Poker Face has added new additions to its upcoming second season. The series stars Natasha Lyonne (Russian Doll, Orange Is the New Black) as a private eye with a sixth sense for knowing when people lie. Lyonne has revealed new information on the much-anticipated continuation of the series.

Poker Face has added John Mulaney (Big Mouth, Mulaney), Sam Richardson (Veep, The AfterParty) and Ego Nwodim (Mr.Throwback, Scrambled) to join the cast for the second installment. Other cast members appearing in the second season include Katie Holmes (Ray Donovan, Dawson’s Creek), Margo Martindale (Justified, The Americans), Cynthia Erivo (Genius: Aretha), Giancarlo Esposito (Better Call Saul), Gaby Hoffmann (Winning Time, Transparent), Kumail Nanjiani (Welcome to Chippendales, Obi-Wan Kenobi), BJ Novak (The Office, The Mindy Project), Sherry Cola (Good Trouble, A Family Affair), Kevin Corrigan (Godfather of Harlem, Fringe), Ben Marshall (Saturday Night Live, A Room For Romeo Brass) and Kathrine Narducci (Godfather of Harlem, The Sopranos).

As per TVLine, the series’ first season wrapped up in March 2023 and was renewed for a second. *Spoilers ahead* The first season follows Lyonne, who plays Charlie Cale, a casino cocktail waitress who ends up quitting and going on the run after finding out that her friend has been murdered by her boss. While on the run, Charlie meets different types of interesting people and helps solve crimes wherever she goes, using her uncanny ability to tell if someone is lying. By the end of the season, Charlie is confronted by her old boss, who she is later framed for killing after he was shot dead, which leads her to go on the run once more.

Nora (Haven, Prodigal Son) and Lilla Zuckerman (Suits,  Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.) served as showrunners for the first season and have stepped down to pursue other projects. Tony Tost (Longmire, Americana) will now be serving as showrunner for the second season of the series.

Poker Face has yet to reveal an official premiere date for the second season, but many speculate that the series will be back in 2025.
