According to Deadline, Peacock has officially renewed Bupkis for season two. Bupkis is a comedy drama series starring Pete Davidson (The King of Staten Island, Bodies Bodies Bodies). Davidson also wrote and executive produced Bupkis.
Alongside Davidson, Bupkis is executively produced by Lorne Michaels (Saturday Night Live, Wayne’s World) for Broadway Video and is executive produced and written by Erin David (Masterminds, MacGruber), Judah Miller (Crashing, American Dad!), Dave Sirus (The King of Staten Island, Saturday Night Live) and Andrew Singer (The Other Two, Portlandia). The series is directed by Jason Orley (Big Time Adolescence, I Want You Back).
The semi-autographical series is a whirlwind that follows Davidson as he tries to navigate life, emotional relationships and the trials and tribulations of fame.
The series stars Joe Pesci (Goodfellas, The Irishman) as Davidson’s grandfather and Edie Falco (Nurse Jackie, The Sopranos) as his mother. In season one, Bupkis saw a lot of guest stars, including by not limited to: Steve Buscemi (Fargo, Con Air), Al Gore (An Inconvenient Truth, The 11th Hour), Ray Romano (Everybody Loves Raymond, Ice Age) and Machine Gun Kelly (The Dirt, Bird Box). Given the reputation for guest stars that Bupkis has, it is believed that viewers can expect just as many, if not more, guest stars for season two.
According to Susan Rovner, the Chairman of Entertainment Content at NBC Universal Television and Streaming, “Pete Davidson is a once-in-a-generation talent, and what he created with the first season of Bupkis absolutely blew us away… Pete has the rare ability to make you laugh out loud with his unfiltered brand of comedy, and then tear up with his raw and honest vulnerability. We could not be more proud to continue on this journey with Pete, Lorne Michaels, Broadway Video, and our partners at Universal Television for a second season as we continue to bolster Peacock’s comedy slate.”
Season one of Bupkis “took audiences on a wild and emotionally captivating adventure… from family weddings to drug-fueled road trips to lonely holidays on set, these authentic, outrageous, and emotionally candid escapades gave viewers the good, the bad, and the real that comes with stardom. We are grateful to Peacock for their support, and can’t wait to once again climb inside the creative mind of Pete Davidson for season two,” stated Universal Television President, Erin Underhill.
Bupkis season two is all anyone can talk about right now and fans just have to be elated and curious to find out what happens. Especially after the ending of season one, resulting in Davidson in an accident.
Expect to catch season two of Bupkis on Peacock in 2024!
