Peacock will launch a second Days of our Lives miniseries – adding two former daytime stars to the new show, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The five-episode miniseries, Days of our Lives: Beyond Salem, will run beginning July 11, and will follow the first installment of Beyond Salem, which premiered in September 2021.
The upcoming series will introduce both current and former cast members of NBC’s long-running soap opera. Beyond Salem will feature Kristian Alfonso (Joshua Tree) and Peter Reckell (Knots Landing), who will reprise their roles as Hope and Bo Brady. The new miniseries will also feature Diedre Hall (Our House), Drake Hogestyn (Christmas Tree Lane), Stephen Nichols (Witchboard), Mary Beth Evans (The Bay), Lucas Adams (Liv and Maddie) and Camila Banus.
Each character will be followed to different major cities for family reunions that ultimately take turns for the worst. The show’s stars – Alfonso and Reckell – began acting in the soap in 1983, with both actors leaving and returning multiple times over the years. While Reckell last appeared on the show in 2016, Alfonso left in 2020.
“We are beyond thrilled to be partnering with Peacock again to produce a second chapter of Days of Our Lives: Beyond Salem,” executive producer Ken Corday (Ladies of the Lake) said, via The Hollywood Reporter. “Being able to build off of the storylines from Days of our Lives to create another exciting series for the audience brings myself, the Corday Productions team, and the cast so much joy. I cannot wait for the fans to see what we have in store next.”
