Peacock drops a new trailer for season 2 of Twisted Metal starring Anthony Mackie (Captain America: Brave New World). From video games to TV series, Twisted Metal gained a following through the gaming console PlayStation. As the game became more popular, screenwriter Rhett Reese (Deadpool) took the gameplay and made it into the series it is today. The show takes place in Los Angeles, California, with Mackie’s character John Doe. We follow John Doe through the series and learn his life is full of chaos. As his life unravels, audiences see Doe is a special kind of street racer. Like all car racing you want to come in first place. The difference in Doe’s racing is that you drive till you’re the last one alive, all while completing tasks along the way. The winner of the tournament receives one wish from Calypso, played by Anthony Carrigan (The Flash). The main challenge racers face is who they’re up against. Racers can come from any walk of life such as assassins, and killer clowns. 

According to a Hollywood Reporter article Season one left fans on an unexpected cliffhanger after Mackie’s character John Doe faces off with his enemy Sweet Tooth. Fans are eager to find out the fate of their beloved character. The season two trailer heats up revealing a closer look at what we’ll see. Watch the trailer below! 

The trailer opens up on John Doe’s life as a racer. He recaps the past year of his life and the people he met along the way. Viewers see some returning characters like Quiet played by Stephanie Beatriz (Brooklyn Nine-Nine) and Sweet Tooth played by Samoa Joe (Suicide Squad).  Fans speculate over the potential relationship between John Doe and Quiet. The characters will have an ultimate tournament in season 2, facing off against each other. John Doe must be the last driver to receive his wish and nothing will get in his way.
