Peacock: ‘Bel-Air’ Season Two Trailer Released

As the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air‘s reboot prepares to make its return in 2023, Peacock has officially released its trailer for the second season of Bel-Air. In the trailer, you will see the reboot bringing back an original star. The streaming service is releasing Bel-Air‘s second season on February 23, 2023, according to ComicBook.

“Man, it feels so good to be back!” Morgan Cooper (U Shoot Videos?, Levitation), executive producer of the show, said via ComicBook. “The future of our show is bright and I can’t wait for fans to see what’s in store for the Banks family in season two. EVERYONE is ready to level up in this new chapter, especially Will.”

In this second season, Will is at a “crossroads” when a new leader pops in his life and queries what he’s ascertained while living in Bel-Air, according to ScreenRant. This second season features Will starting to stumble back into the controversies that brought him to Bel-Air in the first place, according to Collider. Those controversies were betting on basketball and getting involved in fights. On the other hand, Will has a chance at excellence, thanks to a pro basketball scout.

“In season two, the show will continue to find ways to push the envelope and feel refreshing and unique while also honoring the heart of the legacy series,” new showrunner, Carla Banks-Waddles (Half & Half, Good Girls), said in a statement via ComicBook.

This Fresh Prince of Bel-Air reboot is inspired by a viral trailer by Cooper that reimagined the popular 90s sitcom. Cast as Will Smith is Jabari Banks (The Mandela Project, The Amber Ruffin Show). The second season of this reboot is bringing back original star Tatyana Ali (Jawbreaker, The Young and the Restless) as a teacher at Bel-Air middle school. Ali’s character’s name is Mrs. Hughes. Her character takes a liking to the character she originally played, Ashley Banks, now portrayed by Akira Akbar (Captain Marvel, Criminal Minds).

“The themes of trust, pride and ambition are at the forefront, and all our characters find themselves at unique crossroads that will be life changing,” explained Cooper.

Other cast of the reboot include Coco Jones (Let It Shine, White Elephant) as Hilary Banks, Jordan L. Jones (Snowfall, Rel) as Jazz, Olly Sholotan (Lloyd, Gigi & Nate) as Carlton Banks, Cassandra Freeman (Luke Cage, Inside Man) as Vivian Banks, Adrian Holmes (Are We There Yet?, Skyscraper) as Philip Banks, and Jimmy Akingbola (Kate & Koji, In the Long Run) as Geoffrey.

Bel-Air returns with its second season on February 23, 2023, on Peacock.
