Peacock Adds Five New Cast Members for Season Two of Anthology Series ‘Dr. Death’

According to Deadline, Peacock has just added five new actors in recurring roles for the crime drama anthology series, Dr. Death. The series will add Rita Volk (Faking It, We Still Say Grace), Judy Reyes (Claws, Smile), Jack Davenport (the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, The Morning Show), Annika Boras (The Post, Succession), and Sandra Andreis (We Got This, Snabba Cash).

As written by Deadline, Dr. Death is inspired by the Wondery podcast of the same name; the second season will follow the “Miracle Man” storyline based on the recent third season of the podcast which features the deceitful tale of Paolo Macchiarini, played by Edgar Ramierz (Jungle Cruise, Wrath of the Titans), a debonair surgeon renowned for his innovative operations who also holds a dark secret. Things only become more complicated when investigative journalist Benita Alexander, played by Mandy Moore (This is Us, The Princess Diaries), becomes personally entangled with the supposed “Miracle Man” just as a group of doctors halfway across the world make an alarming discovery which calls the doctors incredible medical practices into question.

Previously announced cast members for season two of Dr. Death includes Luke Kirby (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, No Man of God), Ashley Madekwe (Salem, Revenge), and Gustaf Hammarstan (Thunder in my Heart, The Sandhamn Murders). According to Deadline, directing duties for season two will be split among Jennifer Morrison (Euphoria, One of Us is Lying) and Laura Belsey (The Walking Dead, Shadow and Bone). Morrison will direct the first four episodes, while Belsey will take the latter half.
