‘Peacemaker’ Season Two Recruits New Members With Connection To Batman

The acclaimed series Peacemaker tells the story of the titled character, played by John Cena (The Suicide Squad), as he leads a team to battle against a swarm of aliens from taking over the planet. The second season will surely continue where the first one left off. As reported by Comicbook.com, it has been confirmed that John Cena will return; it’s unknown if members of the previous season will return.

According to Comicbook, additional new members, such as Sol Rodriguez (Star Trek: Picard) will be joining the fray as Sasha Bordeaux. In the comics is a martial artist and a member of Checkmate with some connection to Batman. The other newcomer joining the upcoming season will be David Denman (The Office), whose role remains unknown. James Gunn (Guardians of the Galaxy) released several posts on Instagram hinting behind the scenes of the production.

According to Comicbook, with news about the upcoming season of Peacemaker being released, Gunn released a statement on social media that read, ”Yes, we’ll be shooting Superman & #Peacemaker simultaneously; yes, I’ve written all the episodes; but, no, in the interest of getting the show out there I won’t be able to direct them all (only some).” Additionally, there is an upcoming adult animated series that will be produced by Gunn, dubbed Creature Commandos. The series will focus on the team-up between Frankenstein’s Monster, a werewolf, a gorgon and a vampire as they combat the Nazis in World War II. It has been confirmed that Frank Grillo (Beyond Skyline) will reprise his role as Rick Flag Sr.

With filming currently underway, details about how these new characters will fit into the story are scarce as there hasn’t been any further information on the series release date. It remains to be seen how Sasha will interact with the peace-obsessed vigilante and his team.
