The History Channel favorites, the Pawn Stars, are coming back in style with their fourth season. The executives decided the Stars needed a little more energy so they brought in the rock stars of Lynyrd Skynyrd to record a new theme song.
A surprise “Party Like the Pawn Stars” event took over the grounds of the show’s setting of the Gold & Silver Pawn Shop in Las Vegas as Lynyrd Skynyrd showed up to celebrate the success of the show, the new theme song and some Memphis Championship BBQ. Rick “The Spotter” Harrison told the Las Vegas Sun, “We are all huge fans of one another.” The band took home bags full of Pawn Stars loot while Rick says that he even has “a hat worn by their founder Ronnie Van Zant, who died in a tragic plane crash back in 1977.”
In addition to a song change, the show will air on May 30 at 9 PM, which is a Thursday rather than its typical Monday air date.
Despite these changes, the show will continue to focus on the Gold & Silver Pawn Shop and the Harrison men who run it. The show has found a perfect balance to entertain and teach that has managed to connect with its predominantly male audience.
