Scripted anthology series Why Women Kill has been renewed for a third season at Paramount+, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The new season will feature a new cast and new storylines.
The dark comedy’s debut season, starring Ginnifer Goodwin (Once Upon A Time) and Lucy Liu (Charlie’s Angels), and created by Marc Cherry (Devious Maids), follows the lives of three women living in different decades – a 1960s housewife, a 1980s socialite, and a 2019 lawyer. Each one deals with the respective infidelity plaguing their marriages. The second season is set in 1949 and centers around Alma Fillcot, played by Allison Tolman (Emergence), who yearns to join an exclusive garden club led by the intimidating Rita Castillo (Once Upon A Time).
Why Women Kill explores the intricate lives of its female characters with a style, charm and dark humor only Marc Cherry can provide,” said Nicole Clemens, president of Paramount+ originals, via The Hollywood Reporter. “We’re so excited that the audience for the series continues to grow, with the second season of Why Women Kill ranking within the top 10 series of Paramount+ in terms of both overall engagement and new subscriber acquisition. We can’t wait to share the new cast of riveting, scandalous characters Marc Cherry has created when the series returns for its third season.”
Information regarding the season three’s cast has not yet been released.
