Breaking news: Paramount+ has removed a few Nickelodeon series from its catalog, including iconic titles such as Big Time Rush, Doug and Blue’s Room, Deadline reports.
According to Deadline, the animated series Doug was released in 1991 on Nickelodeon and had four consecutive seasons. Doug was one of the first-ever titles that were part of the “Nicktoons” in the 1990s, which included many other iconic series later on, such as Rugrats, The Ren & Stimpy Show, Rocko’s Modern Life, Aaahh!! Real Monsters, Hey Arnold! and many more.
According to Deadline, other Nickelodeon titles removed recently from Paramount+ include My Life As A Teenage Robot and series from DreamWorks Animation films such as Kung Fu Panda: Legends of Awesomeness and The Penguins of Madagascar.
According to Deadline, others include AwesomenessTV, Breadwinners, Game Shakers, House of Anubis, Let’s Just Play: Go Healthy Challenge, Welcome to the Wayne, Wonder Pets and Zoofari.
“Furthermore, according to Deadline, Paramount+ users have recently pointed out that other series, such as ALVINNN!!! and the Chipmunks, Blue’s Room, Big Time Rush, Face’s Music Party, Fanboy & Chum Chum, Ni Hao, Kai-Lin, Oobi, Sanjay & Craig, The Upside Down Show and Tot Cop have been removed from the platform’s catalog.
Blue’s Room, according to Deadline, was spinoff series based on Nick Jr.’s Blue’s Clues. The spin-off was released on Nickelodeon as part of the Nick Jr. programming block, at first airing short segments between the Blue’s Clues between 2004 and 2007. In 2015, the shorts were added to the Noggin app but were removed officially in 2020. CBS All Access, now known as Paramount+, had the show in its catalog since 2021, but it has now been officially removed.
According to Deadline, Big Time Rush was a coming-to-age sitcom released on Nickelodeon for four consecutive seasons from 2009 to 2013. After the series was concluded, the Big Time Rush group went on tour for a bit before disbanding and reuniting again in 2020, and they are still active today.
According to Deadline, the titles being removed are part of the company’s process of removing and adding titles after a certain time, specifically on a monthly and quarterly basis, a Paramount spokesperson said.
There is no way to know which Nickelodeon titles Paramount+ will remove next.
