The official trailer for the second season of Mike Judge’s Beavis and Butt-Head has been released by Paramount+. According to a Deadline Exclusive, the first two episodes of the second season will premiere on April 20, 2023, in the United State and Canada, and on Friday, April 21, 2023, in the United Kingdom and Australia, with further international markets to follow.
Beavis and Butt-Head, who became seminal figures in pop culture during the 90s, made their official return last year with an all-new series. Despite the passage of time and changes in the world, Beavis and Butt-Head remain largely the same in the new series, which has been updated with some modern elements for a blend of nostalgia and novelty.
“Beavis and Butt-Head started with me animating a two-minute short, and then a second one that was like three minutes. [I made it] in my house, by myself, with nobody. My ex-wife helped out a little bit, but there was no [one else]. And then MTV came along, and it did irk me a little bit that it was called MTV’s Beavis and Butt-Head,” explained Mike Judge (King of the Hill, Idiocracy), creator of the popular adult animation, via BleedingCool.
Beavis and Butt-Head first appeared in Mike Judge’s 1992 short film Frog Baseball, which aired on MTV’s animation showcase Liquid Television. The network then commissioned a full series, which aired for seven seasons from March 8, 1993, to Nov. 28, 1997.
Mike Judge’s Beavis and Butt-Head is executive produced by Judge, Michael Rotenberg (Beverly Hills Ninja, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia), Lew Morton (Futurama, Veep), Antonio Canobbio (Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, Borat Subsequent Moviefilm), Shannon Prynoski (Her, Big Mouth), Chris Prynoski (Motorcity, Her), and Ben Kalina (Big Mouth, Midnight Gospel).
