Yesterday, Paramount+ announced via Twitter that the new teaser trailer for the Fatal Attraction show would be released soon. According to Comicbook, the official teaser trailer alongside key art from the show was revealed earlier today. The new TV series will reimagine the ‘80s classic as a TV miniseries. According to Comicbook, the show will star Joshua Jackson (The Affair, Fringe) as Dan Gallagher and Lizzy Caplan (Mean Girls, Inside Job) as Alex Forrest. The teaser gives the viewers an overall look at the story. It shows the two characters having a meet-cute which is followed by dates and makeout sessions, everything seems to be going great for the new couple. But as the trailer continues, the viewers get the feeling that Alex is watching Dan, which builds the tension that reaches a peak when the audience discovers Dan is married, and Dan finds out that Alex knows about his wife.
The cast of the show also includes Amanda Peet (Brockmire, Togetherness) as Beth Gallagher; Alyssa Jirrels (Mech-X4, As We See It) as Ellen Gallagher; Toby Huss (Blonde, Dickinson) as Mike Gerard; Reno Wilson (Tyson’s Run, Good Girls) as Detective Earl Brooker, and Brian Goodman (Caralique, Clover) as Arthur Tomlinson.
According to Comicbook, Alexandra Cunningham (Chance, Dirty John) will write and executive produce Fatal Attraction while also serving as the showrunner. Other executive producers attached to the show are Kevin J. Hynes (Scorpion, Dirty John), who shares a co-story credit with Cunningham; Darryl Frank (Animaniacs, Resident Alien) and Justin Falvey (Gremlins, Our Time) for Amblin Television; and Silver Tree (The Flight Attendant, You), who also directed five episodes.
Paramount+ is describing this new version of Fatal Attraction as a deep-dive reimagining of the ‘80s classic, which is described as a psychosexual thriller and has become part of pop culture. The show will explore the timeless themes of attractions that prove dangerous, marriage, and infidelity. These themes will be explored through the modern perspective of strong women, personality disorders, and coercive control.
The Fatal Attraction miniseries will premiere on April 30 on Paramount+. The original ‘80s movie starring Michael Douglas (Ant-Man, Wall Street) as Dan and Glenn Close (101 Dalmatians, Dangerous Liaisons) as Alex is available to stream on Paramount+.
