The new Criminal Minds show has a new trailer. The new show Criminal Minds: Evolution will make its anticipated return this month to Paramount+.
According to Deadline, the new show is set to premiere during the Thanksgiving holidays with a new episode coming out weekly on Thursdays with a midseason finale coming out on December 15th. The season will return on January 12 and continue to air on Thursdays until the season finale on February 9th. All episodes will be available exclusively on Paramount+.
The original show ran for fifteen years, giving the fans fifteen seasons to enjoy. The series follows an elite team of FBI criminal profilers as they solve cases around the United States. Throughout the seasons, many characters have gone and come back. Some characters have been there from the first episode until the last.
And to the delight of the fans, most of the original show’s cast is returning to star in the new series. Joe Mantegna (Barry, As We See It) is reprising his role as David Rossi; A.J. Cook (9-1-1, Wer) is coming back to play Jennifer Jareau better known as JJ; Paget Brewster (How I Met Your Father, Hollywood) is coming back as the amazing Emily Prentiss; Adam Rodriguez (One Day at a Time, Jane the Virgin) is back playing Luke Alves; Aisha Tyler (Fear the Walking Dead, Friendsgiving) is back playing Doctor Tara Lewis; and, the team wouldn’t be complete without tech guru Penelope Garcia being played by Kirsten Vangsness (Stuck, Dave Made a Maze).
According to Deadline, they will also introduce a storyline that adapts to the two-year hiatus the show has been on. In the new show, the FBI team will face one of their biggest threats. An UnSub has been using the pandemic to build a network of other serial killers. As the world goes back to the way it was before, the network becomes operational and it’s up to the team to hunt them down.
One of the changes from the old series is a new addition to the cast. Deadline revealed that the character is named Elias Voit and is going to be played by Zach Gilford (The Midnight Club, Midnight Mass). The character is described as an operations analyst with a dark side. This character is set to have a season-long arch, but it is yet to see how he will be involved with the team.
The first episode of Criminal Minds: Evolution premieres November 24. Don’t forget to watch the trailer below.
