According to Deadline, Paramount TV+ just gave the green light for a new limited six part series Fear Not. Fear Not will star, Oscar winner Anne Hathaway (The Devil Wears Prada 2, Mother Mary). From the writer, Bash Doran (Boardwalk Empire) and Steve Stark (Wednesday, My Mom’s Murder) and MGM Television, they based the series off of the 2023 Vanity Faire Article, “True Crime, True Faith: The Serial Killer and the Texas Mom Who Stopped Him.”
With the help of Cindy Holland (Sirens, The Punisher), Chair of Direct-to-Consumer, and Jane Wiseman (Big Mouth, Friends From College), Head of Originals, at Paramount +, Fear Not would be the first “Big Buy” that Paramount has since the Paramount/Skydance merger which recently took place on August 7, 2025.
Deadline notes that the writer Doran tells the story of a serial killer, Stephen Morin who was accused of many more crimes than the alleged killer, Ted Bundy. Hathaway portrays the character, Marty Palms who will be the last women that Morin will ever kidnap. With Morin’s devotion to prayer and her compassion and courage relationship forms between Morin and Palms. Morin will be safely returned as Morin will be sentenced to the death penalty.
Doran, Stark and Stacy Levin (My Mom’s Murder, Jett) will executive produce for Toluca Pictures, Helen Estabrrok (Espina, Juno) will EP for Vanity Fair Studios along with Hathaway, Adam Schulman (The Gold Lunch, The West Wing) and Johnathan Rice (Song One, Jenny Lewis: Carpetbeggers) for Somewhere Pictures. MGM Television will be the studio producing the series. By grounding this chilling true story in the lived experience of out protagonist, Anne is bringing a level of nuance and gravity to the screen that only a performer of her caliber can.
