According to Deadline, Paramount+ just gave the greenlight for a new limited six-part series, Fear Not. Fear Not will star Oscar winner Anne Hathaway (The Devil Wears Prada 2, Mother Mary). From writer Bash Doran (Boardwalk Empire), producer Steve Stark (Wednesday, My Mom’s Murder) and MGM Television, the series is based on the 2023 Vanity Fair article “True Crime, True Faith: The Serial Killer and the Texas Mom Who Stopped Him.”

With the help of Cindy Holland (Sirens, The Punisher), Paramount’s Chair of Direct-to-Consumer, and Head of Originals Jane Wiseman (Big Mouth, Friends From College), Deadline reports that Paramount+’s Fear Not will be the first major purchase the company has made since the Paramount/Skydance merger that recently took place on August 7, 2025.

Deadline notes that the writer Doran tells the story of a serial killer, Stephen Morin, who was accused of many more crimes than the prolific killer, Ted Bundy. Hathaway portrays the character, Margy Palm, who will be the last woman that Morin would ever kidnap. With Palm’s devotion to prayer and compassionate courage, she forms a relationship with Morin. This bond lasts far beyond Palm’s safe return, all the way up to Morin’s eventual imprisonment and sentencing to death.

According to Deadline, Doran, Stark and Stacy Levin (My Mom’s Murder, Jett) will executive produce for Toluca Pictures. Helen Estabrrok (Espina, Juno) will EP for Vanity Fair Studios along with Hathaway. Adam Schulman (The Gold Lunch, The West Wing) and Johnathan Rice (Song One, Jenny Lewis: Carpetbeggers) produce for Somewhere Pictures. MGM Television will produce the series.
