‘P-Valley’ Expands Season Three Cast with Seven New Recurring Roles

According to Deadline, P-Valley on Starz welcomes Nicholas G. Sims (Wu-Tang: An American Saga), De’Adre Aziza (Power Book II: Ghost), Brandon J. Dirden (The Americans), Moritz J. Williams (Kingdom Business), Chaz Hodges (Studio City Kings), Bella Blaq and Jay Jones (Lovecraft Country) as new recurring actors for season three. Additionally, production for the show has recently begun in Atlanta.

As described by Deadline, Sims will play Calvin, a fiery and enthusiastic member of the Chief-Fi-Chiefs, the oldest gang in Chucalissa, a fictional city in Mississippi. Aziza will portray Red, the first female member of the Hurt Village Hustlas, one of Chucalissa’s major gangs. Dirden will take on the role of Detective Sykes, an officer who is persistent and determined to investigate the recent increase in crime in the city. Williams will play Chance, a new worker at the Pynk, which is a popular strip club in Chucalissa. Her arrival will cause both excitement and disruption at the club. 

Hodges will portray Sage, an eccentric employee of Roulette, who is played by Gail Bean (Snowfall). Independent and unique, Sage is unafraid to stand out and go against the grain. Rapper Bella Blaq will play Elaine, an assertive and confident employee of Roulette. Elaine is outspoken and fearless, willing to stand up for herself and challenge others. Jones will reprise his role as Prince, the fiery, impulsive and temperamental leader of the Hurt Village Hustlas. 

Katori Hall is the creator, showrunner and executive producer of P-Valley. With each episode lasting an hour, the drama series centers around Pynk, a small strip club that perseveres and succeeds against the odds. A source of determination and resilience, Pynk provides a haven for those who feel lost, broken and cursed, as well as vibrant and dynamic characters, whether they’re wealthy and successful or struggling by clinging on to hope. Overall, P-Valley celebrates that beauty and exposes its audience to a rich tapestry of characters and the dramatic, emotional stories that unfold within the setting of the strip club

In season two, the show introduced significant developments at Pynk, where the strip club faced challenges to stay operational amidst the difficulties brought on by a pandemic, reflecting the real-world COVID-19 events. The series also featured a dramatic power struggle for leadership within the club’s community. New employees were introduced, bringing disruptive changes to the existing dynamics among the club’s staff.Season two experienced an in-depth look at the characters’ personal journeys at the Pynk, all while serious and ominous events affected the town of Chucalissa, adding to the drama and tension of the television series.

According to Deadline, the cast of P-Valley also includes Nicco Annan (This is Us) as Uncle Clifford, Brandee Evans (The Family Business) as Mercedes, Shannon Thornton (Dynasty) as Miss Mississippi, J. Alphonse Nicholson (They Cloned Tyrone) as Lil’ Murda, Harriett D. Foy (Welcome to the Wayne) as Pastor Woodbine, Dan J. Johnson (Underemployed) as Corbin, Morocco Omari (Empire) as Big L, Dominic DeVore (Power Book IV: Force) as Duffy, and many more.
