Fans of Hulu’s three-time Emmy winning mystery drama won’t have to wait long for season three. According to Deadline, Only Murders In The Building has set a premiere date for Tuesday, August 8.
The news comes less than a month after production on the season ended. The official account of the series posted a video on Instagram to commemorate the wrap.
The comedy follows Selena Gomez (Wizards of Waverly Place, Spring Breakers), Martin Short (The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause, Inherent Vice), and Steve Martin (Bringing Down the House, Cheaper By the Dozen) as an unlikely group of true crime lovers who come together to create a podcast after becoming entangled in their own mystery. The series has been critically acclaimed since its 2021 release and is expected to be renewed for a fourth season as viewership has remained steady throughout the years, though an announcement has yet to be made.
The series is known for its variety of guest stars, including Cara Delevingne (Suicide Squad, Paper Towns), Amy Schumer (Trainwreck, I Feel Pretty), Shirley MacLaine (Terms of Endearment, The Apartment), and Michael Rapaport (Deep Blue Sea, True Romance).
Season three has been confirmed to bring forth Paul Rudd (Ant-Man, Knocked Up), Jesse Williams (The Cabin in the Woods, Grey’s Anatomy), Ashley Park (Emily in Paris, Beef), Tina Fey (Date Night, 30 Rock), Ryan Broussard (Jack Reacher: Never Go Back, The Big Short), and Andrea Martin (My Big Fat Greek Wedding, Black Christmas).
Additionally, three-time Oscar winner Meryl Streep (The Devil Wears Prada, Out Of Africa) will also appear in the third installment. Her addition to the cast has been well received via several social media interactions from the main cast. Hulu released a teaser, featured below, showcasing Streep’s character in the series.
Seasons one and two of Only Murders In The Building are currently available on Hulu. The first episode of season three will air on August 8.
