The midseason winter finale of Once Upon a Time ended with Regina (Lana Parrilla), Snow White (Ginnifer Goodwin), and Prince Charming (Josh Dallas) accepting their fate to be involuntarily sent to hell by the Dark Ones. Until Regina says something to Dark Hook (Colin O’Donoghue) which reminds him of who he really is. At the last second he saves everyone but as a result is sacrificed and sent to the underworld himself. And just when it appeared that Rumpelstiltskin (Robert Carlyle) changed for the better, Emma (Jennifer Morrison) discovers that he deceived everyone by consuming all the dark magic from the Dark ones. He purposely gives Emma a fake dagger and reveals that Hook’s sacrifice was meaningless. Emma Swan then threatens Rumplestiltskin to tell Belle (Emilie De Ravin) what he did unless he joins her to the underworld to bring back Hook. He reluctantly agrees and the winter finale ends with them preparing for their departure to hell.
Emma Swan spent most of Season 5 as the dark one so it will be interesting to see the show’s new dynamic considering she’s not the Dark Swan anymore. Also, we’ll get to see how the writers will incorporate De Ravin’s pregnancy on the show. Perhaps Belle will be expecting a child with her husband the Dark One AKA Rumplestiltkskin.
This isn’t the first time that the writers of Once Upon a Time included an actress’s pregnancy into the show. Goodwin and Dallas (Snow White & Prince Charming) were expecting their first child and that’s how Prince Neal (their baby) was introduced on the show.
Luckily for fans, they only have a few more months to wait until Once Upon a Time returns. ABC confirmed the continuation of Season 5. The fairytale series will return on Sunday, March 6 at 8|7c
