Per Deadline, Prime Video has announced the premiere date for its upcoming half-hour police drama series, On Call. All eight episodes will be released on January 9, 2025. Additionally, the streamer has released first-look images of the series’ production.
Co-created by Tim Walsh (Chicago P.D., Hightown) and Elliot Wolf (Dark Woods), On Call is an “adrenalized and visceral” cop drama that follows a police duo as they patrol Long Beach, California. The series explores the morality of protecting and serving a community, innovatively incorporating a mixture of bodycam, dash-camera and cellphone footage to create a cinema verité effect.
Troian Bellisario (Pretty Little Liars, Lauren) portrays veteran officer Tracin Harmon, who struggles to find her place in her department while training the next generation of officers. Opposite her, Brandon Larracuente (The Good Doctor, Bloodline) portrays Alex Diaz, an ambitious newcomer who grapples with keeping his optimistic outlook as he realizes the challenges he’ll face in today’s climate.
Eriq La Salle (ER, Under the Dome), who serves as an executive producer on the series and directed multiple episodes, plays Sergeant Lasman. The cast includes Lori Loughlin (Fuller House, When Hope Calls), who portrays Lieutenant Bishop, and Rich Ting (Tulsa King, The 8 Show), who portrays Sergeant Koyama.
The series is produced by Universal Television, a division of Universal Studios Group, and Amazon MGM Studios, in association with Wolf Entertainment. Walsh, La Salle, Elliot Wolf, Dick Wolf (Chicago Med) and Peter Jankowski (FBI) serve as executive producers.
