According to Deadline, today, Monday July 24, Prime Video released an official teaser trailer for a spinoff of their hit series The Boys, Gen V. Gen V is the first spinoff of The Boys and is exciting for fans and superhero lovers alike. Check out the teaser trailer below.
The series is set to premiere on September 29 of this year. Gen V is from studios Sony Pictures Television and Amazon Studios while also in association with Kripke Enterprises, Point Grey Pictures and Original Film. The showrunners of Gen V are Michele Fazekas (Reaper, Kevin (Probably) Saves the World) and Tara Butters (Reaper, Kevin (Probably) Saves the World). Butters and Fazekas also serve as executive producers alongside Seth Rogan (Funny People, Pineapple Express), Eric Kripke (Supernatural, Revolution), James Weaver (Good Boys, An American Pickle), Evan Goldberg (This is the End, Superbad), Ori Marmur (Passengers, Escape Room), Pavun Shetty (The Boys, New Girl), Ken Levin (The Boys, Preacher), Neal H. Moritz (S.W.A.T., Made of Honor), Michaela Starr (The Boys, Timeless), Craig Rosenberg (The Boys, Based on a True Story), Zak Schwartz (Taken, Wu-Tang), Jason Netter (The Hunters, Wanted), Darick Robertson (The Boys, Punisher) and Garth Ennis (The Boys, Preacher).
Deadline explains described the series in great detail, saying that it is “set at Godolkin University, America’s only college for young-adult superheroes. They put their physical and moral boundaries to the test to compete for the school’s coveted top ranking and quickly learn that ambition comes with sacrifice, and the difference between right and wrong is not as clear as they once believed.”
The students must come to terms with who they are and what type of heroes they want to be whenever the university has a dark secret revealed.
Some familiar faces are expected to be in Gen V, such as, Claudia Doumit (The Boys, Timeless), Jessie T. Usher (Shaft, Smile), P.J. Byrne (Mob Town, Eloise) and Colbie Minifie (Homebody, The Boys) will be playing their respective characters from The Boys. Alongside The Boys actors, the cast for Gen V has also been revealed. The cast includes but is not limited to: Marco Pigossi (Boogie Oogie, Invisible City), Patrick Schwarzenegger (Midnight Sun, Moxie), Asa Germann (Caviar, Dahmer-Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story), Sean Patrick Thomas (Till, Lie to Me), Jaz Sinclair (Paper Towns, The Vampire Diaries), Shelley Conn (Bridgerton, Liar), Derek Luh (Runaways, All Rise), London Thor (Lady Bird, You), Chance Perdomo (After Ever Happy, After We Fell), Maddie Phillips (Teenage Bounty Hunters, Summerland) and Lizze Broadway (Instakiller, Ghosted).
