Reed Hastings, Netflix CEO, publicly asked President Barack Obama to appear on Netflix series House of Cards.
According to Deadline, President Obama met with Hastings and a group of other tech company CEOs and bosses. They discussed the problems that plague the Obamacare website and efforts on national security surveillance.
Released on the White House pool report, President Obama asks Hastings, “I’m just wondering if you brought advance copies of House of Cards?” The report also adds, “the exec laughed and invited Obama to do a cameo on the series.” The President joked, “I wish things were that ruthlessly efficient” in DC and added that Kevin Spacey’s character Underwood is “getting a lot of stuff done.” Underwood is a loquacious, determined and ruthless U.S. senator on House of Cards.
House of Cards has gained fans with President Obama and many other politicians since its debut on February 1. Those in attendance also include Apple’s Tim Cook, Yahoo’s Marissa Mayer and the 12 other tech bosses.
House of Cards returns to Netflix on February 14 with its second season. Ted Sarandos, Netflix’s Chief Content Officer revealed in October the series will be back for more seasons.
