NYCC: Disney+’s ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ Cast Surprise Fans, Announce Premiere Date

New York Comic Con attendees were in for a treat as Marvel’s Daredevil: Born Again cast made a surprise appearance today. Series stars Charlie Cox (Stardust, Kin) and Vincent D’Onofrio (Godfather of Harlem) joined a panel today to announce the Disney+ series will hit the streamer on March 4, 2025. The long-anticipated series is a remixed continuation of the original Netflix series that ran for three seasons.

Cox and D’Onofrio appeared at a panel entitled “Marvel Fanfare” with Marvel Comics’s Editor-in-Chief, C.B. Cebulski (Marvel Fairy Tales), to celebrate the namesake’s 85 years of storytelling. Sana Amanat (Captain Marvel, Ms. Marvel), Marvel Studios production and development executive, was also on the panel. Others included comic book artist Steve McNiven (Death of Wolverine, Civil War), comics writer and novelist Charles Soule (Star Wars: Dark Droids, Star Wars: The High Republic), and iconic comic artist, Frank Miller (Sin City, 300). The discussion explored Marvel’s years of narratives set in New York City, including the upcoming season filmed on location. In addition to the premiere date, Cox and D’Onofrio revealed a sneak peek with an alleged new trailer that was leaked online.

Set in the trenches of Hell’s Kitchen, Daredevil tells the story of a humble blind attorney, Matt Murdock, who starts a meager firm with his best friend, Foggy Nelson, and clerk Karen Page. As Murdock tries cases daily, his secret alter ego fights crime by night as the vigilante, Daredevil. Despite his disability, Murdock’s other senses are enhanced, making him an agile foil with formidable fighting skills.

In the original 2015 series, Cox played Daredevil/Matt Murdock, while D’Onofrio played his archnemesis Wilson Fisk/Kingpin. The new series will return to New York as Fisk, last seen in Marvel’s Echo series, will run for mayor. In addition to Kingpin as threat, a new villain has been confirmed to emerge. Comicbook reports that Muse will appear as the adversary in the series. Rumors of the character’s appearance first sprouted during San Diego Comic-Con.

A slate of actors from the original series will reprise their roles including Jon Bernthal (We Own This City, The Bear) as Frank Castle/The Punisher, Deborah Ann Woll (Escape Room, True Blood) as Karen Page, Wilson Bethal (All Rise, Doors) as Bullseye/Benjamin Pointdexter, and Elden Henson (The Mighty, Idle Hands) as Nelson.

All three seasons of Netflix’s Daredevil are available to stream on Disney+.
