HBO’s It: Welcome to Derry started its panel at New York Comic-Con with a sneak preview of a never-before-seen clip from the series. The preview showcased a character shopping through a store while strange things kept happening around her without her realizing. Eventually, she was trapped by aisles of shelves covered with pickle jars that eventually showed body parts of the character’s father, who attacked her until she was finally woken up by people around her asking her what was wrong with her. The scene showed what horrors are to come from the highly anticipated series.
After the series cast of the series came out to speak more about working on the series. The panel included Barbara (The Flash, Norita) and Andy Muschietti (Mama, The Eclectic Slate), Brad Caleb Kane (Tokyo Vice, Warrior), Chris Chalk (Perry Mason, When They See Us), James Remar (Dexter, The Warriors), Jason Fuchs (Flipper, Mafia!), Jovan Adepo (Overlord, To Catch a Killer), Kimberly Guerrero (Reservation Dogs, Seinfeld), Stephen Rider (Event 15, What Lies Under the Tree) and Taylour Paige (The Toxic Avenger, Hit the Floor). Andy spoke about working on the series and how there were many things that they were able to do in the series that they couldn’t do in the previous films. It was also stated that the series will follow the lore of the novel more closely than the film adaptations.

The panel concluded with them showing two more unseen clips from the series. The first clip showed the character of Dick Howard as he was sitting in a plane talking to two pilots, and as he was sitting, it seemed like he was having a panic attack. Before he knew it the back of the plane was starting to be filled with water as he walked back into it, a giant vault-type door opened, leading him into an opening underground. While he walked, he saw what can be described as a circus tent that read “Penny Wise the Clown” and as he got closer, it opened up and a creature inside asked “who are you?” before the scene ended.
The third and final scene showed the two pilots looking for Dick when one sees his mother and while he sees her, the other pilot sees nothing. Before he knew it, the thing pretending to be his mother attacked him and he shot at it, confusing the other pilot, who was confused about who he was talking to before the sequence ended.
It: Welcome to Derry will air on HBO Max on October 26.
