Apple TV+’s brought Slow Horses to New York Comic-Con with an interesting panel. The panel consisted of cast members, which included Christopher Chung (Total War: Three Kingdoms, Gods of Their Own Religion) who played Roddy Ho, James Callis (Bridget Jones’s Diary, Castlevania: Nocturne) who played Claude Whelan, Nick Mohammed (Ted Lasso, The Sense of an Ending) who played Mayor Zafar Jaffrey, Ruth Bradley (The Gold, Humans) who played Emma Flyte and director Saul Metzstein (Late Night Shopping, Living The Dream).
During the panel, small clips from the series were shown as the cast discussed the show as well as answered a multitude of questions. Some of the questions consisted of each cast member speaking about their individual act while also jokingly bantering with one another. The cast was asked what the hardest days were for them as a crew coming into the set and to that they responded that they prep endlessly and everyone knows what they’re doing and is on top of things. Everything is there to make it easier and everyone is super well supported.
Slow Horses is a British spy series about a dysfunctional team of MI5 agents exiled to Slough House, a bureaucratic dumping ground for disgraced spies, led by the curmudgeonly Jackson Lamb.
During the Thursday panel of FX’s Alien: Earth, fans got to witness the first episode of the series in full length. This showed new fans what is to come for the first season of the alien horror series while also refreshing old fans on what happened prior. The panel consisted of series cast members, including Alex Lawther (The End of the F***ing World, The Imitation Game) as Joe Hermit, Babou Ceesay (The Best of Enemies, Killer Heat) as Morrow, Samuel Blenkin (Atlanta, The Continental) as Boy Kavalier, Sydney Chandler (Don’t Worry Darling, Pistol) as Wendy, writer Noah Hawley (Lucy in the Sky, Lies and Alibis) and executive producer David W. Zucker (The Good Wife Prime Target).
Chandler shared a story on how she flew from another country to audition for the role on Alien: Earth. She flew out and had an impromptu meet and greet with showrunner Hawley, which led to him realizing her passion and casting her as Wendy. Chandler concluded the story by embarrassingly stating that she did all that just to find out that later that Hawley actually lived five minutes from her home.
Alien: Earth follows the story of a young woman, Wendy, and a team of soldiers who discover the crash and its deadly alien cargo. While they try to help civilians, a corporate battle unfolds between the Whan Utani and Prodigy Corporations over the valuable specimens from the crash.
Slow Horses is available to stream on Apple TV+ and Alien: Earth is available to stream on Hulu.
