Nurse Jackie‘s sixth season hasn’t even started yet, but the show’s already gotten an early renewal, says The Hollywood Reporter.
With the premiere of the sixth season scheduled for April 13th, Showtime has already offered Nurse Jackie the seventh season.
This is an unusual move for the network, pretty much unprecedented, which means they have quite sure of the medical comedy’s sucess in yet another season.
In additional news, it is also certain that Peter Facinelly, the leading male actor, will not be returning as a regular for the 7th season, even though he may show up for a few episodes as a guest-star. Instead, the actor will star in NBC’s political drama Odyssey.
Nurse Jackie‘s numbers were up to 3.13 weekly viewers on the fifth season, which was the most successful one up until today.
