Based on the comic series from Robert Kirkman (Invincible), The Walking Dead is currently airing its eleventh and final season. Broken up into three parts, the tentpole AMC show will come to an end this summer. However, this will not be the end of stories from the TWD universe. Since its inception in 2010, the series has spawned two spinoffs in Fear the Walking Dead and The Walking Dead: World Beyond. The former follows a different set of characters surviving the zombie apocalypse on the West Coast. World Beyond 0ccurs years into the future where a group of young adults has adapted to the new zombie world order.
In addition to these two series, three more spinoffs have been announced, including Reedus’ own series with TV partner Carol Peletier, played by McBride. The fourth is the episodic anthology series, Tales of the Walking Dead, which will follow individual chapters of new and adjacent characters within the same world. And the most recent series is Isle of the Dead which will star Dean’s Negan and Lauren Cohen’s Maggie (The Boy).
New episodes of The Walking Dead air Sunday evenings on AMC and can be streamed on AMC+.
