Peacock’s game-based series Twisted Metal, which was released back in July 2023, revolves around the journey of John Doe, who is played by Anthony Mackie (The Falcon and the Winter Soldier) and is offered a better life only if he successfully delivers a package across the apocalyptic wasteland with the assistance of Quiet, played by Stephanie Beatriz (Brooklyn Nine-Nine). The additional members of the series consist of Thomas Haden Church (Over the Hedge) as Agent Stone, Will Arnett (Lego Masters),Samoa Joe (Genesis) as Sweet Tooth and Neve Campbell (Scream) as Raven.
The first season consisted of nine episodes, and had a run time of 30 minutes. According to TVLine, Anthony Carrigan (Barry) will join the upcoming season two as a regular and will play Calypso, who will be the mysterious and confident host and creator behind the demolition derby tournament mentioned at the end of season one. Along with Carrigan, Richard de Klerk (Strange Empire), Patty Guggenheim (She-Hulk: Attorney at Law) and Tiana Okoye (The Good Place) will be going the cast, but their roles have not been disclosed.
According to TVLine, the series was created by the dual work of Rhett Reese (Deadpool) and Paul Wernick (Zombieland), and the script was written by Michael Jonathan Smith (Cobra Kai).Twisted Metal’s first season has received mixed reviews but has captured viewers’ attention due to its blend of dark humor and outstanding fight scenes.The second season will surely be wild ride filled with more vehicular mayhem and humor that series is renowned for. With new embers going the cast, the world within the series will surely expend.
Fans of the video game are feeling the anticipation as they eagerly await Carrigan’s interpretation of Calypso. However, there is currently no information about the plot or release date of the second season. While fans wait, the entire first season is available to stream on Peacock.
