Netflix’s romantic comedy series Nobody Wants This, starring Kristen Bell (The Good Place, Veronica Mars, Frozen) and Adam Brody (The O.C., Ready or Not, Shazam!), has returned for its third season with a new Rotten Tomatoes record. According to ScreenRant, season three debuted with a 100% critics score, the highest rating for any season of the series so far.
The 100% rating is currently based on five positive reviews and could change as additional reviews are added. The show’s first season received a 95% critics score, while season two earned 80%.
Nobody Wants This follows Joanne Williams, played by Bell, a podcaster who falls in love with Rabbi Noah Roklov, played by Brody, despite differences in their backgrounds, careers and beliefs. Season two concluded with Joanne deciding that she wanted to convert to Judaism.
Season three continues Joanne and Noah’s relationship as the couple moves in together. Instead of focusing on whether the pair will remain together, the new season explores their life as a couple and the challenges that come with living together and making compromises.
The season also continues the stories of Joanne’s sister Morgan, played by Justine Lupe (Succession, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Cristela), and Noah’s brother Sasha, played by Timothy Simons (Veep, Don’t Worry Darling, The Interview). Following the events of season two, Morgan’s podcasting career begins to grow while her relationship with Sasha continues to evolve.
Jackie Tohn (GLOW, The Boys, American Idol) also returns as Sasha’s wife, Esther Roklov, as the two characters navigate their lives following years of marriage.
Other returning cast members include Tovah Feldshuh (The Walking Dead, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, Armageddon Time) as Bina Roklov, Paul Ben-Victor (The Wire, Entourage, The Irishman) as Ilan Roklov, Stephanie Faracy (Sideways, The Great Outdoors, Hocus Pocus) as Lynn Williams and Michael Hitchcock (Best in Show, Waiting for Guffman, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend) as Henry Williams.
Sherry Cola (Joy Ride, Good Trouble, Shortcomings) also returns as Joanne and Morgan’s friend and podcast manager Ashley, while Shiloh Bearman (Home Economics) returns as Miriam Roklov. Sarah Silverman (Wreck-It Ralph, School of Rock, The Sarah Silverman Program) and Andrew Rannells (Girls, Black Monday, The Book of Mormon) join the season in new roles connected to Joanne learning more about Judaism as she works toward converting.
Nobody Wants This was created by Erin Foster (House, Cellular, He’s Such a Girl), whose real-life experiences inspired the series. Foster serves as a season three showrunner alongside Jenni Konner (Girls, Camping, In the Motherhood) and Bruce Eric Kaplan (Six Feet Under, Girls, No Good Deed). The three also executive produce alongside Bell, Nora Silver, Steven Levitan (Modern Family, Stark Raving Mad, Just Shoot Me!), Danielle Stokdyk (Veronica Mars, Party Down, Reboot), Jeff Morton (Modern Family, Reboot, Maggie) and Oly Obst (The Last House, The Lovebirds, Will Trent). The series is produced by 20th Television.
Netflix has not yet renewed or canceled Nobody Wants This for a fourth season. All episodes of Nobody Wants This season three are now streaming on Netflix.
