Nickelodeon Requests More ‘Sanjay and Craig’

Nickelodeon wants another helping of Sanjay and Craig for a second season, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The animated comedy returning for 20 more episodes features voice stars Maulik Pancholy (30 Rock, Weeds) and Nerdist creator Chris Hardwick (Talking Bad, The Talking Dead.) The show follows “the misadventures of Sanjay (Pancholy), an excitable and irreverent 12-year-old boy, and his best friend Craig (Hardwick), smooth-talking snake and master of disguise,” according to The Hollywood Reporter.

“Sanjay and Craig is a proven hit with our audience and we are excited to continue the journey with a talented creative team who tell engaging stories filled with outrageous adventures and relatable characters,” said Russell Hicks, president of content development and production at Nickelodeon. “Our burgeoning slate of animated properties is a testament to our legacy and our continued commitment to deliver creator-driven content that fuels the Nickelodeon Animation Studio.”

The Jim Dirschberger, Jay Howell and Andreas Trolf created series should return for its second season to start in 2014.
