Newest ‘Big Bang Theory’ Spinoff To Star Brian Posehn, Lauren Lapkus And Kevin Sussman

According to mxdwn, back in April of 2023, Warner Bros. Discovery revealed another Big Bang Theory spinoff in the works during their 100th anniversary celebration. The announcement came with very little details other than the studio’s intentions to produce the series in the future. However, according to Deadline, more details, including the show’s potential direction and cast, are being circulated.

While the original Big Bang Theory ensemble evolved from three to five to seven main members in the friend group, three secondary characters made their mark as fan standouts. These characters included quirky comic book owner Stuart Bloom, comic book store assistant manager/Stuart’s girlfriend Denise and geologist Bert Kibbler.

Deadline reports that Kevin Sussman (Killers, Almost Famous), who plays Stuart; Lauren Lapkus (Good Girls, Orange is the New Black), who plays Denise and Brian Posehn (The Sarah Silverman Program., Run Ronnie Run), who plays Bert “have signed talent-holding deals” with Warner Bros. Television in the hopes of starring in the new spinoff.

Deadline elaborated that fan speculation for who the spinoff would feature has been a topic since the spinoff’s announcement, with many believing Sussman’s Stuart Bloom would be a great fit. Following Sussman, Lapkus and Posehn’s holding deal, which is in place to allow the actors to reprise their roles, gives merit to the fan theories.

However, while the news for a new Big Bang Theory spinoff may be exciting, the potential series is so early in development that it has yet to be officially greenlit, says Deadline. Without the official green light from the studio, the project has the potential to fall through.

As of now, the ball seems to be rolling for the spinoff, as the franchise’s original creator, Chuck Lorre (Two and a Half Men, Young Sheldon), is said to be attached, and the script is currently being written via Deadline.
