New Trailer For ‘The Legend Of Vox Machina’ Is Out As The Show Premieres Soon

Amazon Prime Video released a new trailer for its upcoming adult animated series, The Legend Of Vox Machina, via Critical Role and Variety. The show is set to debut on January 28. The trailer offers Critical Role fans some important previews of what they will be getting.

The Legend of Vox Machina is inspired by and based on Dungeons & Dragons. It first began as a web series called Critical Role, wherein a bunch of voice actors got together and played Dungeons & Dragons, personalizing their characters and acting out fantastical adventures. The series follows Vox Machina, a unique group of heroes who find themselves on a quest to save the realm of Exandria from dark magical forces, including a sinister necromancer and a powerful evil curse. The popularity of the web series raised quickly that it extended to a Livestream show that doubled as a podcast. Eventually, a campaign succeeded in turning the web series into an animated show.

The new trailer hints that we will see some exciting battles between the goods and the evils. It introduces us to a few major characters such as Sylas Briarwood, Pike Trickfoot, and more. Other than being courageous superheroes, these characters are hilarious with regular people’s traits. Some are straight-up alcoholics, some of them constantly curse at each other. During a scene, the trailer offers us a look at a gigantic, glowingly pink middle finger. Despite their flaws, the characters will unite and tackle evil forces.

It took three years to make The Legend of Vox Machina happen. Critical Role’s record-breaking Kickstarter campaign played an important factor throughout this process. The campaign eventually gathered $11.39 million from fans, far surpassing the team’s expectations. As for now, it still holds the title of the most-funded film or video project in the crowdfunding platform’s history.

Voice actors for The Legend of Vox Machina include Matthew Mercer (Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba), Ashley Johnson (The Killing, The Help), Travis Willingham (Fullmetal Alchemist), and Laura Bailey (Batman: The Telltale Series). Mercer will also serve as the executive producer along with Brandon Auman (Star Wars: Resistance), Chris Prynoski (Metalocalypse), Shannon Prynoski (Fairfax), and Ben Kalina (Big Mouth). Phil Bourassa (Young JusticeBatman: Bad BloodJustice League) serves as the lead character designer with animations from Titmouse.

Amazon renewed the series for a second season back in 2019, even before the first season is premiered. The two seasons contain 24 half-hour episodes. Starting from January 28, three episodes will be available each Friday until the first season concluded on February 18.
