Freeform released a the official trailer for their upcoming miniseries Love in the Time of Corona, as reported via The Hollywood Reporter. The four-part, two-night rom-com, will air on Freeform on August 22nd to the 23rd at 8 PM ET, and will be made available for streaming on Hulu the following day.
Love in the Time of Corona is a series about the hopeful search for love and connection during the events of the COVID-19 global pandemic. Shot using remote technology from inside the cast’s actual homes, the show centers around four couples and the problems they face under enforced quarantine.
Here’s a quick synopsis of the four stories being told:
Leslie Odom Jr. (Hamilton) and Nicolette Robinson (The Affair), who are married in real life, play as James and Sade, a married couple who have been living separate lives until the coronavirus pandemic hits and forces them back under the same roof. Now they must begin to reevaluate their family’s priorities.
Oscar and Elle, played by Tommy Dorfman (Love, Victor) and Rainey Qualley (Ocean’s 8), are two platonic friends and roommates, whose relationship becomes more complicated once the pandemic affects feelings of uncertainty in their own love lives.
Gil Bellows (Shawshank Redemption) and Rya Kihlstedt (Home Alone 3) portray Paul and Sarah, a couple who quietly separated months earlier bud decide to stay quarantined together. When the pandemic sends their daughter home from college, the couple is forced to maintain their “happy couple” facade in order avoid discovery.
L. Scott Caldwell (The Fugitive) plays Nanda, is determined to celebrate her 50th wedding anniversary, despite the fact that her husband, played by Charlie Robinson (Night Court), is unable to return home from his rehab facility.
Love in the Time of Corona was created by Joanna Johnson (Hope and Faith). It is being executive produced by Johnson, Christine Sacani (The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants), Robyn Meisinger (Prisoners), Odom and Robinson.
