Comcast will be offering a completely renewed streaming bundle for their customers, which will combine these three famous platforms: Peacock with Netflix, and Apple TV+, Comicbook.com reports. These specific streamers have been competing against each other to be the best streaming service throughout the years, Netflix being the top one still.
Most streaming platforms have been raising prices lately, but this bundle will be cheaper, Comcast promises, according to Comicbook.com. This news has been released by Comcast after hearing about the news of the combined Disney+, Max, and Hulu bundle.
Brian Roberts, the Comcast boss, has shared that the bundle is named StreamSaver during the MoffettNathanson 2024 Media, Internet and Communications Conference in New York on Tuesday morning, according to Comicbook.com. Roberts explained that it will “come at vastly reduced price to anything available today,” via Variety. Roberts added also that the goal of the company is to “add value to consumers” and “take dollars out” from their competitors, as customers keep having new content from Comcast’s broadband services. “This will be a pretty compelling package,” Roberts teased in the end.
“On the heels of the very successful launch of Hulu on Disney+, this new bundle with Max will offer subscribers even more choice and value,” Joe Earley, president of direct-to-consumer for Disney Entertainment, added in an exclusive statement, via Comicbook.com. “This incredible new partnership puts subscribers first, giving them access to blockbuster films, originals, and three massive libraries featuring the very best brands and entertainment in streaming today.”
“This new offering delivers for consumers the greatest collection of entertainment for the best value in streaming, and will help drive incremental subscribers and much stronger retention,” JB Perrette, CEO and president of global streaming and games for Warner Bros. Discovery, shared excitedly, via Comicbook.com. “Offering this unprecedented entertainment value for fans across all the complimentary genres these three services offer, presents a powerful new roadmap for the future of the industry.”
Furthermore, Disney, Warner Bros. Discovery, and Fox Sports are currently creating another joint streaming service mainly focused on sports, according to Comicbook.com. This bundle will include a merge with the following companies: ESPN, ESPN2, ESPN+, ESPNU, SECN, ACCN, ESPNEWS, ABC, Fox, FS1, FS2, BTN, TNT, TBS, and TruTV. A launch date or name for this possible streaming bundle has yet to be announced.
According to Comicbook.com, the two sport channels not working in this new streaming bundle are CBS and NBC. CBS has a contract with Paramount+, and NBCUniversal Sports is with Peacock. NFL is covered by CBS. NBC, instead, covers the Thursday Night Football, the Olympics, and the English Premier League.
Launch date for the Comcast bundle has not been announced to the public yet.
