

According to Deadline, the new Simpsons movie has set its premiere for summer 2027, taking over the Marvel feature date. The animated series has set its movie premiere for July 23, 2027. This will be the Simpsons movie to hit the screen, filling a date that Disney is simultaneously vacating with an untitled Marvel movie. Currently, there is no confirmed plot for the new animated movie.
As per Deadline, the first Simpsons film was released in July 2007 and was a massive success. The movie opened to $74 million and made $183M domestic and more than $536 million worldwide. The film aired during a time when a televised series could also excel on the big screen simultaneously. David Silverman (Duncanville, Super Slackers) directed The Simpsons Movie.
According to Deadline, The Simpsons is an animated series that first premiered in 1989 and is currently in its 37th season. The series follows a dysfunctional family featuring Homer, a beer-loving father, Marge, a hardworking homemaker wife, Bart, a 10-year-old underachiever, Lisa, an 8-year-old genius, and Maggie, the pacifier-loving silent infant. The series is co-created by James L. Brooks (The Longest Daycare, Planet of the Couches), Matt Groening (Futurama, Disenchantment) and Sam Simon (The Tracey Ullman Show, The Drew Carey Show).
As per Deadline, the cast of the series includes Dan Castellaneta (Space Jam, Shelter in Solitude) as Homer, Yeardly Smith (Maximum Overdrive, City Slickers) as Lisa, Julie Kavner (Hannah and Her Sisters, Ella McCay) as Marge, Nancy Cartwright (Welcome to the Club, When Billie Met Lisa) as Bart, Pamela Hayden (Spyro: Year of the Dragon, The Simpsons: Tapped Out) as Milhouse, Hank Azaria (Free Agents, The Birdcage) as Moe, Harry Shearer (This Is Spinal Tap, The Truman Show) as Ned Flanders and many others.
According to Deadline, all seasons of The Simpsons are available to stream on Hulu and Disney+. The series has been renewed for a 40th season, which will air during 2028 and 2029.
