Adam Driver stars in the new Netflix drama entitled Rabbit, Rabbit. According to Netflix, it was a “highly competitive” pursuit among distributors, and they came out on top.
According to Variety, the show is written by Peter Craig (12 Strong, Blood Father) and has Philip Baratini (Boiling Point, Accused) as the director. Baratini has won an Emmy for Adolescence, where he made a significant contribution. MRC, an independent studio, is the home studio for this production.
Variety lists Rabbit, Rabbit as a show about a convict who just escaped prison, who takes hostages at a local gas station after being cornered by police. The story follows the attempt at a negotiation with the police. The negotiation escalates throughout the show, as the FBI agent in charge, who is trained in ‘tactical empathy’, engages in an “emotional poker game”, according to the logline.
Along with writing the show, Craig is the showrunner and the creator of Rabbit, Rabbit, according to Variety. He is also the executive producer along with Barantini, Driver, and Samantha Beddoe. Craig is also the screenwriter for the hit show Top Gun: Maverick, as well as the creator of an Apple TV series, Dope Thief.
According to Variety, Barantini started off as an actor in Band of Brothers, Dream Team, Chernobyl, and Ned Kelly before he started his path as a director. Villain, his first feature film, starred Craig Fairbrass (Avengement, Rise of the Footsoldier). Baratini adapted his film into a feature film called Boiling Point shortly after. Starring Stephen Graham, the movie was shot in a single take, giving it a busy, tense feel.
Graham and Baratini worked together again on the series entitled Adolescence. Each of the four episodes was shot in one take. The show won eight of the 13 Emmys it was nominated for.
Driver gained popularity for his role in the Star Wars franchise as Kylo Ren. His other projects, including Marriage Story and House of Gucci, also gained traction with the public.
