New Netflix Docuseries ‘Down To Earth With Zac Efron’ Trailer Released

Zac Efron (The Greatest Showman) stars in a new docuseries coming to Netflix entitled Down To Earth With Zac Efron, according to Entertainment Weekly. As the trailer reveals, the actor explores the world alongside wellness expert Darin Olien in search of healthy, sustainable lifestyles.

The travel show features Efron traveling the world including trips to France, Puerto Rico, Iceland, London, Costa Rica, Lima, Sardinia, and Iquitos to “discover what it means to make a difference in sustainability” as mentioned in the trailer. This entails viewing different means of achieving sustainable ways to live – geothermal energy, community efforts, food harvesting, etc.

This seemingly sudden interest in sustainability isn’t new for the actor. Efron also spent a fair deal of time in the jungle on Quibi’s survival series Killing Zac Efron. For the show, he spent 21 days in the jungle on a remote island with nothing but bare necessities, gear, and a guide partner.

As reported by Vulture, Efron reflected on the experience in November saying, “I tend to thrive under extreme circumstances and seek out opportunities that challenge me on every level.” And he definitely did – during his time on Killing Zac Efron he contracted a life-threatening bacterial infection in Papua, New Guinea. He quickly recovered and continued filming for other projects soon after.

On a lighter note, he celebrated Earth Day with an Instagram post in April.

Near the end of the trailer of Down to Earth With Zac Efron, Efron says, “We need to start rethinking how we consume everything, from our food to our power. Change has to start somewhere. Maybe it’s time we all change.”

Down to Earth With Zac Efron comes to Netflix July 10.
