A new Pretty Little Liars Max original series from Warner Bros. Television, entitled Pretty Little Liars: Summer School, is expected to hit the streamer in May. According to a Warner Bros. Discovery media release, the series will premiere with its first two episodes on Thursday, May 9. After its premiere, one new episode will be released weekly on Max until June 20.
The media release notes that the official logline for Pretty Little Liars: Summer School, which will screen at this year’s ATX TV Festival, reads: “Following the harrowing events of Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin, our Pretty Little Liars face a fate worse than death – summer school. However, Millwood High isn’t the only thing getting in the way of their fun summer jobs and new, dreamy love interests. A new villain, who may or may not have a connection to A, has come to town and is going to put them all to the test.”
The cast of Pretty Little Liars: Summer School includes the returning members of the next generation of Pretty Little Liars: Maia Reficco (Do Revenge), Bailee Madison (Just Go with It), Malia Pyles (Baskets), Chandler Kinney (Lethal Weapon) and Zaria (Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin). Other stars include Elias Kacavas (Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin), Mallory Bechtel (Hereditary), Alex Aiono (See You on Venus), Jordan Gonzalez (The L Word: Generation Q) and Sharon Leal (Dreamgirls).
Lindsay Calhoon Bring (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina) and Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa (Riverdale) co-created, executively produced and wrote Pretty Little Liars: Summer School. Alloy Entertainment and Aguirre-Sacasa’s banner, Muckle Man Productions, make the series in collaboration with Warner Bros. Television.
Additional executive producers include Gina Girolamo (You) and Leslie Morgenstein (The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants), who hail from Alloy Entertainment, Michael Grassi (Katy Keene), and, last but not least, Marlene King (Just My Luck), the original creator of Pretty Little Liars.
