A new horror series, called NOS4A2 (pronounced “Nosferatu”), was announced at WonderCon and is set to premiere June 2nd. According to Deadline, this series will air on AMC right on the heels of the fifth season of Fear The Walking Dead, a Walking Dead spinoff. NOS4A2 is based on a book by Joe Hill, who will also executive produce the series, and will star Ashleigh Cummings and Zachary Quinto. For subscribers of AMC Premiere, they can stream the entire series on June 2nd, which will be perfect for binging material for horror fans.
Those who attended WonderCon were able to view a panel discussion with executive producer and showrunner Jami O’Brien (Fear the Walking Dead), Joe Hill, and cast members Cummings, Quinto, Olafur Darri Olafsson, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, and Jahkara Smith. The synopsis for the show reads as follows:
“Based on Hill’s 2013 best-selling novel of the same name, NOS4A2 follows Vic McQueen, played by Cummings (The Goldfinch), a gifted young woman who discovers she has a supernatural ability to find lost things. This ability puts her on a collision course with the evil and immortal Charlie Manx, played by Emmy-nominee Quinto (Star Trek). Manx is a supernatural villain who feeds off the souls of children then deposits what remains of them into Christmasland — a twisted place of Manx’s imagination where every day is Christmas Day and unhappiness is against the law. Vic strives to defeat Manx and rescue his victims – without losing her mind or falling victim to him herself.”
Sarah Barnett, AMC Networks Entertainment Group President, shared her enthusiasm for the show in a statement: “Jami O’Brien and her incredible writing team have created something we didn’t know we needed until now: a perfectly unmissable intertwining of horror and Christmas.” Concerning the movement from Fear to NOS4A2, Barnett commented that “Fear remains one of the most successful dramas on cable with a passionate fanbase who we think will love NOS4A2, a suspenseful and electrifying character drama set against the backdrop of supernatural horror. We anticipate the audience overlap will be strong.”
NOS4A2 will air on AMC June 2nd at 10:00 PM ET/9:00 PM CT, following right after Fear The Walking Dead at 9:00 PM ET/8:00 PM CT.
