One month ahead of its December release date, Cobrai Kai has released images on their official Twitter account. The images tease certain plot points of its upcoming fourth season, including newly added characters. The show, that originally aired on Youtube Red before being bought by Netflix, stars William Zabka (Karate Kid, Back To School) and Ralph Macchio (Karate Kid, My Cousin Vinny) reprising their original characters from the 1984 classic.
Also highlighted is the intensity of the Cobrai Kai dojo in the show that has now become the antagonistic group for our new group of heroes under the leadership of the series’ villain John Kreese played by Martin Kove (First Blood, Steele Justice).
While Kove’s addition to the show was a happy surprise for fans at the end of season one, Kove having played Kreese in the original movie, the images have shown yet another returning villain from the original franchise joining him. The photos show Karate Kid III’s main villain Terry Silver, played by Thomas Ian Griffith (Vampires, Excessive Force), return to aid Kove’s character in beating Zabka and Macchio in the local karate tournament.
Action aside, what the images also highlight is the fact that some of the most important characters in the show are still teenagers. The images stress the fact that family and high school drama will still be a big factor in this story. Showing this especially is the reveal of Dallas Young’s (The Big Show Show, The Main Event) character as the new kid in school.
Cobrai Kai season four will arrive on Netflix on Dec. 31st, and a season five has already been green lit and is currently in production. Fans can check out the images below.
