Earlier today, CBS announced that its new original comedy The Unicorn will be available to stream today, September 20th, almost a week before the show’s scheduled broadcast premiere on CBS. The show, starring Walton Goggins, is currently available on CBS.com, the CBS mobile app, Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV, and Roku.
The Unicorn is the latest CBS comedy from the minds of Bill Martin and Mike Schiff. Martin and Schiff are known for their past work producing comedies such as 3rd Rock from the Sun, and have since worked on the shows Ground Floor and The Soul Man. The show also stars award-winning actor Walton Goggins in the role of the titular “unicorn,” a single guy who checks off all the boxes: employed, attractive, and willing to be committed in a relationship.
The series follows Wade (Goggins) adjusting to his new life as a single guy following his wife’s death a year ago. At the start of the series, Wade takes the first major step of starting to date again, relying on his close group of his friends and his two adolescent daughters for advice and support. The Unicorn is a show about taking a second chance at love and life, as shown through Wade’s journey along with his friends and family. “The Unicorn is an incredibly funny and sophisticated comedy that we feel measures up to the best of television anywhere and deserves advance exposure,” said CBS Entertainment President Kelly Kahl. “We want viewers to sample this great new show and help spread the word that everyone should be watching throughout the season.”
The Unicorn premieres on CBS on Thursday, September 26th at 8:30pm ET/PT, and stars Walton Goggins, Rob Corddry, Michaela Watkins, Omar Miller, Maya Lynne Robinson, Ruby Jay, Makenzie Moss and Devin Bright. A special digital preview of the show is available today across CBS’s streaming services, Amazon Prime, Apple TV, and Roku. You can watch the trailer for The Unicorn below.
