

According to Deadline, actor Ben Stiller (Serverance, Meet The Fockers) and actress Jessica Chastain (The Savant, Dreams) will be teaming up in a new eight-episode Apple TV+ limited series called The Off Week. Both Chastain and Stiller will not only star but also executive-produce the series. Michael Showalter (Search Party, The Idea of You) will direct and also executive produce, and Alissa Nutting (Made For Love, False Positive) will serve as the showrunner.
According to Deadline, the miniseries The Off Week follows the character Gus Adler, a divorced writing professor, who is thrown into a class of chaos. The divorced professor shares custody of his kids, and during his “on weeks” struggles to care for his children as he holds his life together. Adler is also falling in love with Chastain’s Stella West, a mysterious woman who enters his life during his off week.
This is not the first time that Stiller and Chastain have collaborated. Both of the performers worked together on the set of the animated film, Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted. Stiller as Alex the Lion and Chastain as the jaguar named Gia. Stiller and Showalter also collaborated on another Apple TV miniseries, The Shrink Next Door.
Deadline also mentioned all of the other EPs that will be helping to produce The Off Week for Apple TV. Besides, Stiller and Chastain, John Lesher (Beautiful Animals, Serverance), Kelly Carmichael (The Savant, Losing Clementine), Jordana Mollick (Oh, What, Fun, Happy Face), Paul Lee (Sam and Twitch, Task), Peter Principato (Incoming, Reunion), Allen Fischer (The Sea of Trees, Wonderland) and Brian Steinberg (Murderville, Hot Date) will join the series. Lastly, Gabe Fisher (Babel, The Eden Test) will EP as well.
Stiller and Apple TV recently celebrated their success together during the 77th Emmy Awards, where their series Severance received 27 Emmy nominations and eight wins, including Outstanding Lead Actress, Outstanding Supporting Actor, and Guest Actress. Deadline mentions that the documentary feature, Stiller & Meara: Nothing is Lost, will be premiering soon, highlighting the life, career, and legacy of Stiller’s parents, Jerry and Anne.
