New ‘Alien’ Franchise Installment ‘Alien: Earth’ Releases Teaser

During a screening of Alien: Romulus, the lucky moviegoers were treated to the first teaser trailer for the series Alien: Earth from FX. Creator Noah Hawley (Fargo, Legion) also revealed the show’s logline, as stated by Deadline.

Though the teaser is quite brief, the terrifying image gives audiences the first look at the series’ Xenomorph. Its mouth is open, with sharp teeth covered and dripping with a dark substance—drool? Venom? Blood? Nobody yet knows.

As details of the plot are still under wraps, these details have been revealed, “When a mysterious space vessel crash-lands on Earth, a young woman (Sydney Chandler [Don’t Worry Darling]) and a ragtag group of tactical soldiers make a fateful discovery that puts them face-to-face with the planet’s greatest threat,” according to Deadline.

According to Deadline, John Landgraf, the boss at FX, described the series as a “big imaginative reimagining” of the Alien franchise and compared it to Hawley’s work on FX hit Fargo. He also confirmed that the show is “designed to be an ongoing series.”

The series is set to have a stacked cast with Alex Lawther (The Imitation Game, The End of The F***ing World), Timothy Olyphant (The Santa Clarita Diet, The Book of Boba Fett), Essie Davis (The Babadook, Assassin’s Creed), Samuel Blenkin (Black Mirror, Atlanta), Babou Ceesay (Free Fire), David Rysdahl (No Exit), Adrian Edmondson (Star Wars: Episode VIII), Adarsh Gourav (The White Tiger), Jonathan Ajayi (Wonder Woman 1984), Erana James (The Wilds), Lily Newmark (Solo: A Star Wars Story), Diem Camille (Alex Rider) and Moe Bar-El (The Bureau) as stated by Deadline.

The Alien franchise has gained a lot of popularity in the past few months with the release of Alien: Romulus, one of the year’s highest-grossing movies with almost $300k worldwide. The series is set to premiere sometime in 2025, exclusively on Hulu.
