New Aegon the Conquerer Series to Arrive on HBO

For all the Game of Thrones and House of the Dragon fans, HBO has just announced that a new prequel will join the slew of GOT spinoffs focusing on another one of Daenerys Targaryen’s famous ancestors, Aegon the Conquerer. According to Screen Rant, the show is in its early stages of development. Like its earlier predecessor, House of the Dragon, the story of Aegon the Conquerer will take place based on one of the many tales within the George R. Martin book Fire and Blood, which recounts the family history of the Targaryens.

Where House of Dragon marked the first stand-alone Targaryen queen of Westeros, the story of Aegon will recount the history of the first King of Westeros. In the show, fans can expect to see the arrival of the Targaryen house to the land of Westeros. Aegon’s tale constitutes the moment the Dragons took over a much-divided Westeros and thus created the Iron Throne itself. Aegon, along with his sister-wives Visenya and Rhaenys, stormed upon Westeros after the destruction of their homeland Valeryia upon their giant dragons. Screen Rant shows GOT fans are eager to see the dragon Balerion. The large fire-breathing beast was known to be the biggest dragon Westeros had ever seen, considering that dragons grow tremendously in age. Though viewers got a taste of how large dragons could be in House of the Dragon showcasing Vhaegar, it is a shocker that Balerion will astound fans with how small he makes Vhaegar appear.

There is much that shall yet be uncovered with the further details of the show. Though a trailer, cast, and release date have not been confirmed yet, fans have already begun to speculate what this amazing series will offer. However, fans can now wait in anticipation of how HBO will bring to life the beginning of Targeryen’s story.
