House of Cards season 4 is set to premiere on Netflix in 2016 and filming for the new season begins this summer. But there will be a new series regular joining the cast for season 4, Neve Campbell (via Deadline).
Campbell is best known for her work in Party of Five and Scream. While she did have a brief one episode stint in Mad Men, it seems that her new spot on the Netflix original is a big role for her. It is her first big television commitment since Party of Five, which ran from 1994 to 2000.
The American political drama is centered around Frank Underwood (Kevin Spacey) and Claire Underwood (Robin Wright) and Frank’s search for political power with the aid of his wife.
Campbell’s character in the series is not yet known, but it is speculated that she will play a part in the young power couple that rivals against Frank and Claire (according to Deadline).
Michael Dobbs, creator and executive producer of House of Cards, talked about what to expect from season four in an interview with Express, “Much more wickedness, great acting. Great dialogue and a sense that you want more, more, more because it’s compelling and I say this, not because of my association with it, because what the great writers and the great directors as well as the great actors have done with it”. Fans of this political drama can expect to see both new and old faces and they can also expect more political “wickedness” from these actors.
