Netflix’s ‘XO, Kitty’ is Renewed for a Third Season

To All the Boys spinoff series XO, Kitty is renewed for a third season with Netflix, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The announcement came just shy of a month since the last season’s release.

The romantic-comedy series stars Anna Cathcart (To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before, Odd Squad) as Kitty, the younger sister of To All the Boys series protagonist, Song Covey. The show follows Kitty as she enters her teens, dealing with young love and new friendships. Kitty attends the Korean Independent School of Seoul, a highschool far away from her hometown of Portland, Oregon.

The confirmation of the third season was announced Friday, with a Valentine’s Day themed Instagram post on Netflix’s account. The post was captioned “Roses are red. Violets are blue. There’s a third season of XO, Kitty in store for you!”, noted by The Hollywood Reporter

The second season, which was released January 16, debuted at number 2 on Netflix’s English TV list. The season left off on a cliffhanger with Kitty joining her crush, Min Ho (Sang Heon Lee), on his family’s summer trip. The third season is predicted to give fans a resolve to the unanswered questions, and will follow Kitty during her third semester at school.

Showrunner Jessica O’Toole (Charmed, Material Girls) made a statement about the upcoming season, Deadline reports.

I’m so excited to head back to Seoul for another season with our incredible cast and crew. If you thought junior year at KISS brought the drama…just wait,” O’Toole said. “I know we left fans on a cliffhanger at the end of Season 2 but I can promise season 3 will be worth the wait, including our first summer episode — not to mention plenty of romance, friendship, adventure…and kissing. Lots of kissing.”

O’Toole also serves as executive producer for the series, along with the creators Jenny Han (author of the To All The Boys book series) and Matt Kaplan (I Wish You All the Best, Love in Taipei)

Netflic has yet to announce when streaming of the new season will start.
