Netflix’s ‘Winx Club: Reboot’ Releases Teaser Trailer

Winx Club is back on TV in a new fully CG animated reboot series to celebrate the 2oth anniversary since its original release back in 2004, Comicbook.com reports.

Winx Club’s new reboot series will be based on the original story from the 2004 animated series with just a few modifications. Furthermore, this reboot series will make it easier for new and original fans to understand the story better. If anyone is interested in seeing the trailer, it is embedded below.

According to Comicbook.com, Winx Club, created by Italian animator Iginio Straffi (PopPixie, Regal Academy), after its original debut in 2004, became an international success a few months after its release. This success went longer than how Straffi envisioned, as Rainbow SPA was able to release a total of eight seasons across the years, becoming the most iconic animated series ever, and gaining international fans in the process. That is because originally, Straffi thought it would have only a few seasons run, but it grabbed Nickelodeon’s attention and it was released on that platform internationally. In the U.S.A., also a version of the now-shut-down channel 4Kids. After a few seasons, Paramount sold the rights for the show again to Rainbow SpA, which finally led to the original creator being able to pursue this reboot idea with Netflix.

According to Comicbook.com, Winx Club focuses on Bloom, a 16-year-old human girl who has always had a huge admiration for fairies. After saving a fairy named Stella in her town, Gardenia, from a troll, she realizes she has powers and magical abilities (the power of fire). Afterward, she transfers to Alfea Magic School, where she meets Flora, Tecna, and Musa. Because of the tight-knit friendship that forms between them, they unanimously decide to create the group Winx Club.

In the course of the series according to Comicbook.com, they meet other fairies who become part of the group: Aisha, the fairy of the ocean (season two), and Roxy, the fairy of the animals (season four). After fighting various villains along the way, mostly the group of dark witches known as the Trix (and who they team up with during the seasons), Winx Club becomes very well-known fairy warriors in the Magic Dimension.

If anyone is interested in beginning the 2004 original series before the reboot is released, all eight seasons are available to stream on Winx Club‘s official YouTube channel. Furthermore, according to Comicbook.com, there is now-canceled live-action series streaming on Netflix, named Fate: The Winx Saga, despite being more adult-themed, which has received mixed reviews from the original Winx Club fanbase, and that is only two seasons. The first episode of the first season is embedded below.

Rainbow released also a logline for the reboot, stating via Comicbook.com: “We will rediscover the journey of Bloom, a teenage girl from Earth who finds out she is a fairy with extraordinary powers. As she enrolls in the Alfea College for Fairies, Bloom will form the Winx Club with her new friends, embarking on fairy adventures across magical dimensions. Let’s get ready to fly.”

The Winx Club reboot series will be released in 2025 on Netflix.
